“Me enamoré de ti en un Bazaar…”

First listen to this song… that song has nothing to do with this post, but the 80’s were awesome. Now, for the post.

Last week I visited Chef José Andrés’ Bazaar at the SBE in Beverly Hills. It was amazing, everything was delicious and so I decided to blog about it. This was my second time at Bazaar, but the first time I went there I didn’t have a blog.

Bazaar is a fun place, it has a modern vibe and it serves its food tapa style which means you should go with more people and order lots of dishes to share.

To start off, you should order a nitrogen caipirinha, it tastes like alcoholic ice-cream (as described by FZ) and is delicious, plus, you want to see them get made – trust me.

Preview…is that dragon smoke? Could be.

We got foie gras covered in cotton candy (it was as amazing as it sounds, if that doesn’t sound amazing, then try it anyways),  traditional and modern olives (the modern ones are encapsulated liquid olives, it’s fun to eat them), and, for a traditional tapa, jamón Ibérico with tomato bread. I had none of the bread but the jamón was totally worth it.

We also had cauliflower couscous (CM this is vegetarian!!!) and Rossejat with shrimp which is traditional Spanish pasta, it tastes kind of like paella, but more crispy and delicious.

Next came Philly cheesesteaks, I’ve never had a real Philly cheesesteak but this one was pretty delightful. There was wagyu beef slices on top of a poofy, hollow bread that had cheese foam inside. It was a little bit messy after the first bite but completely delicious and according to our resident Philly expert (BP in the house!) it did not disappoint her native Philly palate.

As a main dish we had a 28 oz. Tomahawk and we all went home happy.

For dessert the hostess took the party over to the restaurant’s patisserie where you can choose little pastries, chocolates and fruit bonbons. Dessert was good, but the food was better and it is not often I say this.

Teddy bears

Go to Bazaar! Leave happy, and on your way out get a squishy teddy bear! They are totally cute and colorful and huggable and apparently they lower stress. Mine is red.
